The Star Point System
What is a Star Point? A Star Point, like posts, is a way of keeping track of forum activity. Unlike posts, you can receive a different amount of points depending on what kind of activity you participate in. Star points will be used for the Pathfinder and Way Shaper rank as well as other guild functions such as events.
Below are the following ways you can gain points in this event:
✩Posting on a topic is +3
✩Creating a forum topic / thread / subject is +6
✩Adding a member as your friend on the forums +1
✩Profile messaging +1
x2 point events will be listed here at a later time.
Star Points will be displayed below your "posts" in your profile below your username.
THE RULES
✩Any posting that is considered cheating (rapid posting to get your points up) will be -20 for each offense/post.
✩Any post that breaks guild / forum rules (such as harassment) will result in -30 each offense.

Re: The Star Point System
Isn't that a bit unfair on some people considering others didn't have to do that much in order to get heartkeeper, yet people who merely needed like, one or two more things to rank up now have to do so much more?

Won't we face the same issue anytime we implement something new?
We only have 1 Heartkeeper currently, and that member has almost reached the amount of points that the rank requires anyway. Seems like a good opportunity to upgrade things.
We are trying to make a system that encourages our members to use the guild forums. If a member isn't willing to be part of the guild community and post on the forums or attend the 4 (or 6) guild events, they probably don't deserve the rank anyway.
If we have a ranking system that allows members to be the highest rank after two days, then it would seem like our system isn't actually working. The objective of the ranking system in Ice Heart is to help members adapt to our community and be part of the culture of our guild.

Thank you for your concern.
Some of us can't always make it to 4 (or 6) guild events a week. I guess we don't deserve any rank. :<

That's why we've given you two options. Show your activity to the community in game, or show your activity on the forums if you can't make it to events. Also it does't all have to be done in one week.
Every member should be able to do at least one of those. If they can't, I'm not sure how they will really be apart of the community of the guild.
